So I went to Cassell's Music shop in the Sylmar/Pacoima area, off of Maclay. I decided a few days ago to pick up guitar again and dug up my old acoustic and took it down. The strings were old and rusted and I was missing a washer-type part on the head of the guitar.
So I spoke with the guy at the desk and told him what I was looking for. He not only answered my questions succinctly, but also showed me how to properly string a guitar, oiled the fretboard and polished the guitar. He did this all even though I was only buying strings and the washer part.
I was so impressed I went back the next day and bought a tuner and some picks, and it is the only music shop I will ever shop at, ever, from now on.
