Let's talk about a fairly popular sub-genre of books. They don't have a name but it boils down to regular Joe(or Jane) Schmoe get's transported to another world where magic is real and he has a new body that is hot and awesome and he has to set everything right.
There are quite a few of these books. I myself have read about ten of them. I have even read a story about a guy in a fantasy universe who was thrown into yet another fantasy universe.

These books are obviously written for dudes like myself who play D&D, read fantasy, LARP (I don't LARP but it falls into that same catagory), role-play online, etc. Guys (or gals) who like to escape.
And these are like the ultimate escape books. A dude just like me (maybe more fit or better looking, he IS a fantasy hero after all) get's snagged by a fantasy universe to set some stuff straight. Along the way he learns magic/swordplay, get's a hot sidekick/love interest/cheerleader, get's a henchmen who follows his commands like the Word of God and generally has a good time being a bad ass.
I just read one where a guy dies in a hospital and wakes up in some barbarians body in some other universe and this barbarian happens to be the best swordsman on the planet. A planet ruled, by the way, partly from swordsmen.
That's basically all I got. When I get a little more cash I'm gunna get the rest of that series and I'll tell you how it goes.
